For its first edition, this international prize of $500,000 was awarded ex-aequo to the World Health Organization (WHO) and to the UN Fund for Road Safety, in recognition of their efforts to develop global strategies for the prevention and reduction of road risks. Each of the two institutions received an award of $250,000.

This prize, to be awarded once every four years at the Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, reflects the high regard of His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to place the well-being of citizens and their safety in the face of the hazards and risks of the road.

The opening ceremony featured the launch of a commemorative stamp and a special coin dedicated to the 2025 edition of the conference, symbolizing Morocco's commitment to safer, more sustainable mobility. 

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety is organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics in cooperation with the World Health Organization.

Held under the theme “Commit to life”, this international event is attended by official delegations led by over 100 ministers in charge of transport, the interior, infrastructure and health.
