In a speech delivered on behalf of the Kingdom of Morocco at the 13th Conference of the Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World, Bensaid highlighted the crucial role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the executive branch of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty the King, in preserving the cultural and civilizational identity of the Holy City.  

He showcased the projects and programs implemented by the Agency for the benefit of Al-Quds inhabitants, particularly in preserving heritage, rehabilitating cultural infrastructure and supporting creative sectors.

These initiatives reflect Morocco's unwavering commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to defending Al-Quds and supporting the resilience of its inhabitants, he added.

The Minister also shed light on the efforts made to protect and enhance cultural heritage in the Islamic world, mentioning achievements under the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Islamic World.  

These efforts have resulted in the listing of 117 tangible and intangible heritage elements on ICESCO’s list, including several Moroccan elements, further strengthening the Kingdom’s position at the forefront of nations working for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, he said.
