
The memorandum, signed by Morocco's Minister of Transport Abdessamad Kayouh and Palestine's Minister of Transport Tarek Zaghreb, focuses on exchanging expertise, training Palestinian executives, supporting port and airport management, road transport, and sharing Morocco's experience in developing and managing logistics zones.
Regarding air transport, both parties are committed to strengthening cooperation in airport management and the operation of air transport services through joint meetings for experts, assessing Palestinian needs, training civil aviation executives, enhancing ties between civil aviation authorities, and providing technical assistance for the reconstruction of Yasser Arafat International Airport in Gaza.
The agreement also includes training of executives and engineers of the Palestinian airline, exchanging expertise on drafting laws in line with international developments, supporting Palestine's membership in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and establishing a Civil Aviation Academy, alongside a joint commission with the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation.
On the maritime transport front, the MoU aims to transfer Moroccan expertise in merchant marine management, ship safety, port control, maritime crisis management, and search and rescue operations.
It also addresses assisting the Palestinian side in developing legislation, training executives, and providing support to adhere to the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
In the field of road transport, the agreement provides for the exchange of expertise, technical assistance, training, and mutual recognition of driving licenses.
Regarding logistics, the agreement aims to promote the exchange of expertise in organizing, managing, promoting, and developing logistics zones, as well as encouraging the private sector to develop logistics services and related training.
On this occasion, the Palestinian Minister of Transport and Telecommunications expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for His tireless efforts in support of Palestine.
Zaghreb stated to the press that the signed MoU would intensify cooperation in the air and maritime transport sectors and in the training of Palestinian executives.
