The organization of this Session falls within the framework of cooperating and coordinating efforts made by African Parliaments to address the challenges Africa faces. It also reflects the commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to reinforcing cooperation and solidarity at the African level, the Lower House said in a press release.

The forum also demonstrates the strong will to solidify African parliamentary cooperation to address the various challenges arising in the continent, the same source said, adding that the participants in this Session aspire to strengthen coordination, dialogue, and consultation between the Foreign Affairs Committees of African Parliaments on the issues of peace and security, particularly through discussing two main topics.

The first topic focuses on “Mediation and Coexistence: Towards Addressing Conflicts and Exploring Parliamentary Mechanisms to Prevent Crises and Strengthen Lasting Peace,” and “Economic Integration and Development Paths as a Foundation for Security in Africa.”
